Why Perimeter Rails Matter

Standard loose algebra tiles slide out of alignment on slick desks, distracting students from the mathematical relationship. The StackCalc factoring stage provides recessed perimeter guidance rails that hold factor dimensions \((x + a)\) and \((x + b)\) securely in place while the interior polynomial area is populated.

Step-by-Step Factoring Stage Setup

Setting up the algebraic workstation.

1
Retrieve Rails from 3x1 Box:

Open the modular 3x1 Gridfinity storage box (126.0 × 42.0 × 36.0 mm). Remove the Base Rail (horizontal axis) and Height Rail (vertical axis) from the upper storage rebate.

2
Interlock the 90° Corner:

Align the tenon tab on the Height Rail with the mortise slot on the Base Rail. Slide them together horizontally until they form a rigid 90-degree corner L-frame on the tabletop.

3
Tile Footprint System:

The tiles adhere strictly to the Gridfinity miniblock ecosystem:

  • Unit Tile (1): \(19.0 \times 19.0 \times 7.0\text{ mm}\) (1 unit square).
  • Rod Tile (x): \(38.6 \times 19.0 \times 7.0\text{ mm}\) (spans 2 unit lengths).
  • Square Tile (\(x^2\)): \(38.6 \times 38.6 \times 7.0\text{ mm}\) (spans a \(2 \times 2\) area).
