StackCalc Curriculum & Standards Guide
Welcome to the StackCalc Learning Lab Curriculum Hub. At StackCalc, we believe that mathematical comprehension should not begin behind a flat pane of glass or inside abstract parentheses soup.
Our instructional system bridges Jerome Brunerβs Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) framework with the mechanical clarity of Reverse Polish Notation (RPN):
1. Concrete: Students assemble, measure, and verify quantities on physical desk workbench lids.
2. Representational: Students diagram tape models, area grids, and number bonds in structured lab sheets.
3. Abstract: Students formalize the calculation on 4-line live operational stacks (SC-6 Elementary and SC-32 Scientific), where the physical drop and lift of numbers mirror physical reality.
The Four Curricular Alignments
StackCalc literature is built to drop directly into existing school district pacing guides across four primary curricula:
Common Core State Standards (CCSS-M)
Comprehensive domain coverage spanning Counting & Cardinality (CC), Operations & Algebraic Thinking (OA), Number & Operations in Base Ten (NBT), Fractions (NF), Expressions & Equations (EE), and High School Functions & Modeling.
Explore Common Core Standards →Bridges in Mathematics
Native support for Bridges visual models: Number Racks (Rekenrek) map directly to our 10-Frame Carry Shelves; Open Arrays and Tile Models map to the Algebra Factoring Stage; Double Number Lines match our Fraction Waterline Comparator.
Explore Bridges Cross-References →Big Ideas Math (Larson & Boswell)
Aligned with Big Ideas "Essential Questions" and exploratory investigations. Includes our complete 45-Day Middle School Catch-Up Workbook (SC-6) with the 3-Box "Touch • Stack • Prove" ticket for students who hate multi-line rewrites.
Singapore Dimensions Math
Direct implementation of Singapore Mathβs Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract progression. Fraction Studio blocks serve as physical bar models (tape diagrams); Math Dominoes provide tactile Number Bonds; and RPN stacks mirror mental math branching.
Explore Singapore Dimensions →Flagship Curriculum & Competition Hubs
Classroom Station Guides & Worksheets
Ready-to-print 2-page student station companions and teacher diagnostic keys. Aligned chapter-by-chapter with Singapore Dimensions, Bridges in Mathematics, and Big Ideas Math. Includes Form A (Classroom Master) and Form B (Retake/HW variant).
Texas UIL & TMSCA Competition Center
Official 30-minute speed contest practice tests with 3-significant-figure tournament scoring keys and acceptance intervals. Full coverage across High School (SC-32), Junior High (Grades 7β8 & 26MS/PSIA), and Elementary (Grades 3β6 on SC-6).
